Decker is one of the most environmentally friendly choices you have for a quality decking solution. Limited choices between locally sourced softwoods and imported hardwoods that require repetitive treatment illuminates the fact that Decker is your best environmentally friendly choice.
Decker is a conscience-warming solution to illegal and legal deforestation of hardwood trees currently destroying the natural environment and animal habitats worldwide. In addition, there is a significant increasing pressure from the community demanding for businesses trading timber to provide an environmentally friendly product.
Decker is made from nearly 100% recycled materials. The material is about 40% reclaimed thermoplastics, and around 60% reclaimed wood fibres/chips. Our manufacturing process keeps thousands of tons of wood and plastic scrap out of landfills every year, while delivering our customers quality decking products that are not only stylish and durable, but also environmentally responsible.
For the purpose of making Decker WPC, our wood comes from reclaimed wood waste of the wood-working industries. Our recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE) comes from various plastic production factories that would otherwise be creating huge volumes of waste plastic.
Choose your timber composite carefully as many other brands use virgin plastics and a portion of reclaimed wood. This results in poor quality wood/plastic composite products.
Not only are our raw materials recycled, but they are recyclable for later reproduction of decking boards. We can proudly boast Decker is helping to not contribute to the environmental degradation which unfortunately is taking place across Australia and the rest of the World today.
Surface treatments for traditional decks are nasty and dangerous for you and your family, not to mention the environment impacts. Deck owners use a large amount of stain per annum in order to keep their decking preserved and try to stop it from looking tired. Decker does not require any surface treatments to resist moisture, maintain structural integrity or keep its colour retention outlook.
Decker is designed not splinter, warp or rot as traditional decking timbers do. This dramatically reduces the wasteful cycle of repair and replacement and eliminates the ritualistic application of paint, sealers and stains which are generally nasty to the environment. Our product is environmentally friendly, it reduces your maintenance costs, enhances your home's appearance, adding value to your home and making it more appealing to any potential buyers.
Using sustainable materials and green manufacturing processes is a policy that touches everything we do; even our packaging is made from recycled plastics.
You don't need to pay a premium to be environmentally responsible. Typically eco-friendly products have been comparatively expensive to their non-eco alternatives. Particularly in the building industry, eco-products have been perceived to lack in function, value and quality... not anymore. By making our products affordable to most people, we make an impact by providing sustainable solutions that have a long term impact.
